JUNIOR MARKET GOAT FIELD DAY HELD IN BEDFORD COUNTY

2007 Junior Market Goat Field Day was held on April 28, 2007, at the Bedford County Ag Center. Over 80 4-H members, parents and leaders attended this activity.

Attendees had a chance to learn about the goat industry during the Goat Bowl and selecting project animals through a goat judging contest. They also learned the proper method to show goats and how to grill goat meat (chevon).

While these were important things, the hit of the day was the Goat Olympics. 4-H members had a chance to go through an obstacle course while leading their goat. Most made several trips through the course before lunch. Another Junior Market Field Day is already in the plans for next year.
