There
are many extracurricular opportunities on the Agricultural Campus.
The Department of Animal Science sponsors the Block
and Bridle Club, Dairy
Club, Equestrian
Team, Student Cattlemen's Association, Poultry Club, and Pre-Vet
Club. In addition, the department sponsors judging teams which compete
regionally and nationally in meat-animals,
dairy, horses,
and poultry competitions. Other commodity-related teams are sponsored
by various departments within the College of Agricultural Sciences
and Natural Resources. Because UT Knoxville is a large university,
there are many leisure and educational activities available, ranging
from sports clubs to fraternities and sororities to religious organizations.
Students are highly encouraged to participate in extracurricular
activities because they help develop leadership skills which are
beneficial in the job market.
