HENRY COUNTY IS STATE DAIRY BOWL WINNER

The State 4-H Dairy Bowl was held on June 1 in conjunction with the “June is Dairy Month” Kick Off luncheon in Nashville. A team from Henry County composed of Kelsey Smith, Sarah Milam, Hallie Rushing and Elizabeth Sumners took top honors in the senior division. Rutherford County was second in the senior division with Bedford, Coffee, Lincoln and Marshall counties rounding out the field of six teams.

The Henry County team will represent Tennessee in the 2007 Invitational Dairy Quiz Bowl in Louisville, Kentucky this November. The team was coached by Extension agent Staci Foy and volunteer leader Laura Parchment.

Rutherford County was the winner in the junior high division of the contest. Team members were Austin Duke, Jonathan Duke, Keaton Myers and Samantha Sprowl. Their coach was John Basinger, Rutherford County program assistant. Marshall County was second place with teams from Bedford, Coffee and Henry counties completing the field of six junior high teams.
