Hamblen County Wins 2008 State Dairy Judging Contest
The 2008 State 4-H Dairy Judging Contest will be held on Thursday, August 7, at the Williamson County Fair in Franklin. Competition will be held for senior teams ONLY, with the winning team representing Tennessee in the national dairy judging contest in October.
Team members must be in the 9-12th grades as of January 1, 2008. Entry forms must be mailed to Jeff Mitchell at jmitchel@tennessee.edu by Thursday, July 31, 2008.
A policies and procedures manual has been developed for the Tennessee State 4-H Dairy Judging program. Please review the document carefully as it addresses several concerns and issues raised in the past. You may access the manual from the UT Dairy Extension site.

There is no registration fee, and lunch will be provided for all contestants. Pre-registration is required so there can be an accurate lunch count.
Approximate schedule for the day:
8:30 a.m. - On site registration
9:00 a.m. - Contest begins
11:30 a.m. - Lunch
12:00 noon - Contestants begin reasons
2:30 p.m. - Finish oral reasons
3:00 p.m. - Awards ceremony
