2003 Roundup

Two outstanding 4-H families were honored with the Hale Master 4-H Family award during State 4-H Roundup at The University of Tennessee, Martin. Those awarded the W.M. and Ruth Hale Tennessee Master 4-H Family recognition were:

* The Elder family from Blount County (Roger and Sandra Elder and their children John and Sarah) - Horse Project

* The Britton family from Warren County (David and Joyce Britton and their children Davey and Mac)

This program recognizes 4-H families who have shown consistent leadership ability and exceptional participation in all phases of 4-H work. The Hales established an endowment in 1983 to provide funds for the Master Family recognition. Mrs. Hale presented the awards to the Elder and Britton families during the awards banquet at Roundup.
