Roundup
Two outstanding 4-H families were honored with the Hale Master
4-H Family award during State 4-H Roundup at The University of Tennessee,
Martin. Those awarded the W.M. and Ruth Hale Tennessee Master 4-H
Family recognition were:
* The Elder family from Blount County (Roger and Sandra Elder and
their children John and Sarah) - Horse Project
* The Britton family from Warren County (David and Joyce Britton
and their children Davey and Mac)
This program recognizes 4-H families who have shown consistent
leadership ability and exceptional participation in all phases of
4-H work. The Hales established an endowment in 1983 to provide
funds for the Master Family recognition. Mrs. Hale presented the
awards to the Elder and Britton families during the awards banquet
