Beef Extension Program
The Animal Science Beef Extension Program serves the agricultural industry of Tennessee by providing meaningful educational programs in efficient production of animals and wholesome animal products. Educational programs are in breeding and genetics, reproduction, nutrition and forage utilization, production and management and marketing that involve beef cattle. The section is also responsible for educational programs in 4-H Beef project. These programs are directed through UT Extension staff located in Tennessee's 95 counties.
Tennessee's beef cattle industry is an important part of the state's economy. It is even more important to Tennessee's agricultural economy. Cattle are produced in every county in Tennessee.
