Block & Bridle Roundup to Honor Outstanding Faculty and Host Alumni Gathering
As most of you may know, the Brehm Animal Science Building will be renovated beginning sometime during the summer of 2008.  Thus, the Block and Bridle Roundup of spring 2008 will be the last one held in Brehm for at least a couple years, and it is conceivable that it may be the last one held in Brehm ever.  Because of this, B&B members are already making plans for an extra-special Roundup Celebration.
The Club has decided to dedicate this 69th Annual Block and Bridle Roundup in honor of Dr. Bill Backus, Prof. Ed Lidvall, Dr. Frank Masincupp and Dr. John Smalling.  I am sure many of you were impacted in some way by one, or likely all, of these outstanding teachers.
We would like to invite you to attend the Roundup and help honor these four individuals.  This event will provide an opportunity to meet and greet old friends and even some new ones.  We would especially like for as many past Roundup Champions to attend as possible.
Block and Bridle Roundup will be held in the Brehm Animal Science Arena on Saturday, March 1, 2008. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 6 PM.  Hope to see you there!
Plans are also taking shape for our 2nd Annual Alumni Gathering to coincide with the Block and Bridle Roundup, March 1, 2008.  This will be an exciting event and an excellent opportunity to meet our faculty and students, and catch up with former classmates, professors, friends and supporters of the Department.  We are planning afternoon activities starting at 3:00 pm, informational sessions, and an early banquet at 4:30 pm so all can attend the Roundup ceremonies, scheduled for 5:30 PM that evening.  We look forward to this event and hope you will make plans to attend. As a recipient of this newsletter, you should receive an invitation and response form within the next few weeks.
Please contact Ms. JoAnn Galyon (865-970-3130 or sgalyon3@utk.edu) for more information or to confirm your attendance.
