Graduate Program: Application Procedures

Congratulations on taking an important first step towards career advancement through the pursuit of graduate studies at the University of Tennessee in the Department of Animal Science.  Please review the following information carefully as success of your application will depend on submission of materials to TWO different offices: 1) The Office of Graduate Admissions and 2) The Department of Animal Science Graduate Program Office. 

Please note the following is provided as a brief overview of the application procedures before making application.     (Non refundable and must accompany application)
  3. OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS
    (One official transcript from all colleges and universities attended; do not send until you apply)
  4. TOEFL SCORES
    (if your native language is not English)
  5. GRE SCORES

  1. Animal Science Rating Form: To be completed and submitted to our Department by at least THREE individuals able to assess your previous academic and/or research experience and ability to succeed in graduate studies. Two out of three of these individuals must be from your former academic institution(s).  If you were previously enrolled in a graduate program, your graduate advisor should be chosen as one of your evaluators.  A decision will not be made regarding admission without these materials.
  2. Forms are to be submitted electronically to Ms. Renee Thomas at reneet@utk.edu. If that is not possible, mail departmental documents to the address below. Rating forms must be submitted by the rater, not by the applicant.
