Support UT Animal Science Programs

Your Opportunity to Invest in the Future!

The Department of Animal Science is dedicated to providing quality educational opportunities and leadership to students and clientele with diversity in training and experience. Please help us provide these opportunities by contributing to one of these funds or to other activities or programs of our Department.

Animal Science Teaching Fund

Help our students achieve more through your support. The Animal Science Teaching Fund enhances our students’ opportunities for learning by providing for off-campus field trips, procurement of teaching animals and equipment, implementation of new teaching technologies and other instructional needs. Your gifts will thus help strengthen our efforts to provide the highest level of learning and a competitive edge for our graduates.

Animal Science 4-H Fund

One of our greatest responsibilities is the positive development of our youth. Tennessee 4-H programs provide an excellent opportunity for such, by providing positive experiences that promote responsibility, interaction with other young adults, and development of communication and leadership skills. Our Department of Animal Science Extension Specialists provide leadership for more than 50,000 4-H animal projects each year. Donor support for our 4-H activities is critical to the success of these programs. Monies generated from gifts to the Animal Science 4-H Fund provide for publication of youth educational materials, competition awards and ribbons, mailings, and other needs associated with regional and statewide livestock expositions, competitions, and judging camps.   Your support for these critically-important youth programs is greatly appreciated.

Animal Science Research Fund

UT Animal Science researchers address high-priority issues for our producers, consumers, and all Tennessee stakeholders through high-quality, cutting- edge science. Many of our researchers are nationally and internationally known for their work to increase animal production and health, thus benefiting society by providing for affordable, healthy, and high-value food products, and providing for a greater well-being of companion animals and their owners. To be successful, our researchers rely heavily on outside funding, including from grants and gifts. The Animal Science Research Fund provides monies to support the acquisition and upkeep of critically-needed equipment, undergraduate and graduate students working in our research programs, and travel to scientific meetings for students and their research mentors. Please consider supporting our research efforts through gifting to the Animal Science Research Fund.
