This site and training modules were developed to support
Animal Science 360: Horse, Dairy and Meat Animal Evaluation
and Animal Science 461: Advanced Livestock, Dairy and
Horse Judging. These modules will also be used to introduce
livestock evaluation to Animal Science 160: Introduction
to Animal Science, which is taught in both fall and
spring semesters. Additionally, two modules will be
used for Food Science and Technology 269: Meat Evaluation
and Grading. The previously mentioned classes are core
components of various curriculums, thus are populated
by students from the Departments of Animal Science,
Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Economics
and Agricultural Extension and Education. Furthermore,
livestock training modules would have wide appeal to
Extension agents and agricultural education teachers
training youth across the state.
And was made possible through a 2004 Teaching With
Technology Grant from the University of Tennessee Innovative
Technology Center.
