Professional Interest

Effects of environmental toxins on reproductive performance in avian species.

Planned and conduct basic and applied research to improve the reproductive efficiency of  chickens, turkeys, and quail. Primary interest in the effect of environmental toxins on reproductive performance in avian species. Current research focus is to develop a genetically modified probiotic bacteria to confer protection against challenge with T-2 toxin. Relevant publications showing effects of cytokine proteins on steroidogenesis  in domestic chickens, water quality/nitrate poisoning in commercial poultry, and mycotoxicosis in bobwhite quail.
