Academic Quadrathlon: Congratulations!

The UT AS Academic Quadrathlon team put on an impressive showing at the recent competition held during the ASAS Southern Section meeting in Corpus Christi, Texas. The four member team of Animal Science seniors (Caroline Ellis, Levi Holt, Heslie Powell, Amanda Carlile) participated in the academic competition comprised of a written exam, quiz bowl, lab practicum and oral presentation emerging tied for first place. After applying the tiebreaker, the team was named second place team overall. To achieve this top ranking the team captured first in written exam, second in the lab practicum, second in quiz bowl and fourth in the oral presentation.

The team qualified for the regional competition after winning the preliminary campus event this past fall earning the cash prize. Aaron Fisher, AQ Team Advisor says, "It's an opportunity to express their knowledge of animal science and the winning team goes on an 'all-expense paid' trip to the ASAS Southern Section meeting for the regional competition."
